Hmmm, looks like something is wrong on Island-4x4 website. Two hubs plus Corteco seals = £210.30 but at checkout, paypal tries to charge me £302.83. gonna call them tomorrow & see what's going on.

Also check "RAVE All Models" which contains detailed description of the L322 EAS. Autel MaxiSys needs to be >> V3.10 to cover the L322 EAS.

Just got the offside rear hub off the car. Could not feel any play either on the car or mounted in the bench vice. Bearing feels ok-ish, but the axle seal is really loose on the drive shaft, so gotta replace that. Cannot see any obvious way...

I searched all over last yea for one. Ended up buying a complete ABS pump with switch on eBay, but only used the switch !! The old switch was intermittently not switching but would start the pump after a tap with a screwdriver. It probably...

As with any car, look at the MOT history. Same advisories showing year after year, generally show the owners haven't bothered to fix them until they become failures. Service history with receipts for any work done is good.

Isn't that for the "first year" tax ?? It's because the gov are seeing falling revenue from cleaner new cars. Anything from 2001-2017 use the emmisions bandings although those have all risen a bit as well...

Same short length of wire with two spades is useful for running the EAS Pump manually as well !!

There's no "communication" between the injectors & ECU. Assuming the correct & matching set, the ECU looks at the various sensors & engine load to adjust the the injector pulses. From various searches I've done, the main difference between...

From the info in this thread, exhaust in coolant was probably either head or valley gaskets. however probably cause for gasket failure was blocked radiator. On my project car the prev-owner has bodged the thermostat & over tightened the...

As a side note, we did some live data recordings on the TD4, although this was with the car stationary & not under load. Inlet Air Temp seems to be reading high. Bonnet was open & the ambient was around 16-18degC. Will do some more captures...

There's a few threads on here about the "chamfer & jubilee clip" method. I chamfered mine & used three jubilee clips to compress a little. My 10ton eBay press pushed them in with no trouble. Main recommendation is to have a second pair of...

I have a vacuum pump if you wanna try that first.
  • pwood999
Yes tried that using a length of 4mm x 25mm bar, but injector not moving. I was gonna try loosening the clamp nuts a turn or so, and then fire it up to see if the engine ejected them. Told my son to squirt the injectors & pipe nuts with...

  • pwood999
Yes I figure injector 2 needs replacing or refurb. Started to get bits off to remove it, but got a problem with the fuel pipes. The nuts are siezed on the injector ports, so when I try to loosen the pipes the injector port turns as well. No...

Any leaks will cause issues because the system needs to be under pressure (about 10-15psi) to prevent the coolant boiling.

Leak off test results after 1min. I'm assuming the containers are 100ml, so number 2 is 85ml after 1min. The other three about 30-40ml ??

Just been setting up to do a leak-off test on my son's 2004 TD4 FL1. Removed the leak off pipes from the injectors, and tried the ignition-on with engine off check. No fuel coming from injectors tops, but lots coming out of the leak-off pipes...

Apparently the tank pump was replaced, but they were vague about how long ago. It has all the engine covers in place so could not see the FIP properly. TBH I'm not that familiar with this diesel lump !!
  • pwood999
Need some guidance from the Diesel experts out there. A local guy & his son stopped by today to see if I could figure out his problem. He's had the P38 since 2002 & it generally seems well looked after. My Nanocom doesn't yet have EDC...

Do the nut (5) at the far end first. It's easier while the axle end is still attached. Then undo the two marked 7 & 8 in the diagram. If the bolts are fouling on the roll-bar mounts, just undo them & let the roll-bar hang down a bit. Also do...
