Don't run the harness through the chassis, run it through conduit along the top.
This allows for easy access in the future

Yes the lines on the front of the solenoid, one runs to a T-piece off the main vacuum line from the pump.
The other runs to the top of the egr.
The third runs toward the front of the engine somewhere, but I can't see anywhere obvious. I'm assuming it would run to the air intake system...

Spotted this loose vacuum hose in the engine bay and can't see where it should plug in.
The hose in question is on the bottom of the solenoid.

yes.. several inches narrower and the gearing is lower

Jeep Wrangler axles (JK onwards) are wider
Wrangler JK track width: 61.9 inches
Defender track width: 58.5 inches
Most American axles such as the Dana 60 found under Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge pickup trucks are between 67.5 and 69.5 inches wide.

Tbh, I would consider a vehicle that can't easily be returned to factory condition with bolt on parts as seriously modded.
Fitting a different ratio differential or swapping the transfer box is nothing fancy.

The TD5 spec oil needs to meet Acea A1 and B1 grades.
It is a newer standard than the Kubota, so should be fine. Newer oils are generally backwards compatible.
