Are you standing on an almost perfectly level surface, ive noticed my oil level change quite drastically based on the levelness of the surface. I check my level about 5min after engine turnoff thats plenty time for all the oil to drain back down...

Got to find the mounts to do one of mine, it makes quite a din at the moment.

Always worth having a refurb kit just in case. That way if it fails one day, you can refurn in the evening, and have the car going ready for the next day !! As Keith says, excessive vibration is usually one or two of the rubber mounts failed.

I find the older you get the longer it takes I did the rear bearing on my disco 3 and when i came to put it back togeather there was a return spring missing on the R /H side handbrake shoes i spent 3 days looking for it and then finally ordered...

Update. Well that was easy, just place a carpet over the modules under the seat (removing seat first) then lay on your back on the carpet, legs in the air, arms under the dash. Got it out and done what I wanted to. Now on to the next disaster.

At least that means it's less likely to go wrong. :)

I should have just found a garage to do it.. though that's difficult in its own right.. I'm going to have to book a couple of days off work this week to finish. I can't really afford to waste my days off like that
