Read and delete which errors? EAS or other systems? Your link is for the free EAS software for which you need a Windows laptop or tablet and a USB to serial adaptor as well as the cable. Depending where you are located, I can supply the cable or...
I would not go by the service interval, i would change the oil and filters at half the mileage, they are very expensive bits of kit to replace and fresh oil can do no harm, and judging by some of the modern engine horror storeys with wear and oil...
LR also has a mileage or 365 day service schedule.
That should be honored as it's a requirement to maintain the vehicles longevity. They are just dodging their contract or they don't have their contract adjusted to your vehicle which is a bit...
I read this a few times before I realised why I kept coming back to it. Then I realised. Stop looking for what isn't there, start looking at what is there. Which parts/faults are covered. They're very good at " well that isn't in your warranty"...
Chains always stretch a little and the pinions wear too but I have one on 147K miles and I think the other is on 242K kilometers running on original chains tat I do not intend changing. I think regular oil changes with good quality oil is the...
Lol! Surprisingly, the RAC sub contractor did. Ran full diagnostics, found lots of faults, including the ride height control module. Tried to reset the ride heights, clear codes, but all to no avail. It’s with my usual mechanic now, so I’ll...
Thank you all :-) I really appreciate you taking the time to message and reassure me I've got the right part and hopefully a better one than original. Now to find time to do it!
Spare parts are starting to arrive, I immediately compared the new chains with the old ones: here is the situation 30 years and 186,000 km later. I actually suspect it was changed because it has little stretch and there was putty in some places...
I believe the late 2005 was a bit of a crossover to the 2006 facelift model so you may find that the lights are factory fit 2006 ones, no idea how you will find out other than the original build sheet. The lack of headlamp wipers would indicate...
The problem with the chrome or chrome plated plastic is that it starts to peel.. Given the choice I'm with you and a solid none peelable finish for practicality. 👍
It looks nice with the grill😊
A good question as to original looking parts🤔 there are a few bods on here that run this model and no doubt a similar year who give you some more precise info😎👍
You have misunderstood. With EKA off you cannot enter it but you can turn it back on to enter it should the need arise. However with the immobilser turned off, the EKA should never be needed.
There could be a air leak in the induction system 🤔
This can cause maf discrepancies and the short term fuel trims are above normal, they should be around 0+/-.
Joined the M23 from Gatwick heading towards M25 yesterday evening. Suspension fault, down to bump stops, managed to get to one of those emergency lay-byes. then waited for RAC. From 9:00pm until 1;00 am on side of motorway, then until 2;00am...
True. The fan blades smashed in the water then the rad overheated at low speed up a steep track and literally exploded! Now use an after market fan with a switch. Have upgraded from Keith’s Air con hack.
Wd40 is pure dog crap.
I just put ordinary grease on the sliders.
Do check that the piston retracts nice and smoothly as it could also be a genuine caliper fault.
Had you been using your cruise control on the motor way ? I only ask as your car uses the rear brakes only to help maintain cruising speed so can often lead to hot rear brakes
I worked with a fitter in a bus depot when I was 19,he was 63 then around 33 yrs ago. They would use copper grease as an emergency grease for wheel bearings on the buses😵
i use red rubber grease on everything brake related. its rubber and dot4 safe. it also doesnt run or break down with high temperatures.
copper grease will react with the rubber
