I'm an amature mechanic at best , how difficult is it to do the cam? I've purchased some land rover workshop manuals to try and teach myself, so I have a minor understanding.

I'm talking of an ECU tune on a dyno , if I have that done before a cam change , would doing the cam cause any issues?

I have a 4.0 1999 P38 , I am looking into getting the engine tuned and was wondering is it worth waiting until I have changed the camshaft for a torque cam would it effect the tune?

I believe standard are actually M12 heads as I had an M12 socket get stuck on the head of the bolts when it snapped . Obviously this is totally different if the exhaust was changed in the past and someone used different bolts. However M10...

Just measured it at 5-6 cm which translates to 50mm so they should be enough.

Are M10 x 100 bolts long enough ?

Hi everyone I am trying to remove the center box on my P38 and the bolts that go onto the clamp have disintegrated, does anyone know the nut and bolt size? Thanks

This is what I want to find out about, wether you can mate that to a Thor p38 , wiring the xyz switch and the low range is what I don't understand.

Il take note , Seems an awful amount of work , but its worth it .

My P38 is the Thor engine so I imagen a discovery 2 box could fit? And no I don't have a nano com just a icarsoft cr max Nano com is just slightly above what I can afford.

I just prefer manuals and wanted to know wether it's something an amateur could do themselves.

My heater matrix on my P38 is currently leaking from the o rings after we changed the radiators. Is it an easy fix ?

Yes I don't think I would cope with worsened steering 😂 it already has the turning circle of a limo .

Id imagine if I go for narrow tires but taller they should weigh the same if not slightly more , either way I'm more than willing to trial this. I use this car daily so for me every mpg matters.

They will give extra 1-2 mpg , the taller the better for fuel as it takes less energy to cover same distance, it's nothing to run ragged about but when the tires need changing Its worth it for me to swap over.

Yes , my goal is focused more towards comfort/fuel economy than the typical off-road car so the altered Speedo wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Never thought about that , are speedometer calibrations possible on the P38?

Hello all Just wondering wether anyone has experience in fitting tall tires to a standard P38 , I found some I liked however the sizes were 235, 85, r16 , are these to tall and going to rub? Cheers 👍
