Yes Nanocom needed to check the MAP sensor. Have you tried unplugging the MAF? The temperature sensor for the EDC can also cause a problem as can inlet air temperature sensor which is part of the MAF.
As long as the egr valve appears to be there then they can't fail it, recently had to re fit egr and pipe work to a td5 disco that had the full delete done and failed MOT because no engine cover the tester could see it was missing. At the moment...
I ran my P38 for years with egr disabled (push a small piece of bar in the vac pipe to block it then put it back on ) mine past smoke test first time ever year, it ran better and cleaner.
