    Just to offer a conclusion.. The backbox including the 1 damaged tail pipe was lowered and cut off. Then, a genuine, used backbox was welded on. This was then correctly installed

    No worries, no harm done. Thank you for your responses. Where does the part go exactly? I have had a brief look but wasn't 100% Is it on the RHS of the tailgate itself?

    I need to check the tailgate seal. The cinch motor does pull it in the last few cm. I'm suspecting some connections are not 100%. When u say inside the panel, do u mean I should remove the bootlid door card? If so, what's the best way to do...

    Each to their own, did u read the original post? If you had done you'd have noted its the tail pipe out of the backbox that is the issue....
