I left the coolant cap slightly loose.. no overheating and rad hoses are not hard..
Drove 30 minutes No over heating
sniff test done and confirms gas leak…😡😡..
Yes, the rad appears to be a recent installation…while vehicle was running and idling the top was very hot, actually right hose was roasting..I crawled under and across the bottom was not as hot..
Definitely not a roar on start up, actually come to think of it, it was roaring on startup….but now not…start vehicle and the fan is operating very quietly all the time..
I’ll do the newspaper test and get sniff test..
Newspaper test - roll up a newspaper and slowly insert into the viscous fan. When cold it should stop the fan turning but as engine warms it should get more resistance and try to shred the newspaper. (Free when cold - locked when hot)

Yes there's a sniff test liquid you can get but make sure you get the diesel one. You can get universal ones that work on petrol and diesel but I'm not sure how good they are

New service, brakes, in tank pump and running great..
Drove it 4 days no issues.
