I appreciate everything you have given me here, but understand none of it 😁 If at some point you could find your way to travel five miles down the road and hand out some advice, there could be a bottle of malt winging its way home with you 😉😉

    Got me some air con.

I tried in all key positions and then by starting it and the bulb didn't light. In a rush of enthusiasm I 'borrowed' the 'AUX' FL (also 30A) and used that instead. The car started so I have been able to move it so it no longer blocks the garage...

For anyone needing closure! I bought a go kart throttle cable - £15 on fleabay Right sort of length at 60"+ and pedal fitting similar to my application (needed a small sleeve, but easy enough). Inner cable proved to be same diameter as Land...

Haven't got my V5 at hand, so from memory; My 2012 factory station wagon has body type Dual Purpose Vehicle. (The only difference I can see that this makes, is it is not restricted to the same speed limits as commercial vehicles). The important...

That might be an option. I should of mentioned that currently I have the later 300tdi sender fitted which is now knacked, it came with a second hand tank I got off ebay, the tank unfortunately leakedwhen I removed the cradle to clean it up so...

Finally after 5 years Ive managed to take a VNT TD5 around Marquenterre and its nothing short of incredible. Near limitless power and torque on tap when i need it. No huge run ups, no flooring it and snatching 3rd. Just driving up, mostly with...

If you are using the compression fittings drill.. Is there room to drill another hole in it & use a bulkhead fitting(allows the nylon fuel pipe through & then locks off) right angle out the tank & away you go… You can do the above on a 90 tank...

Better with the clip but can work without but there is a chance it may escape. All you need is a short length of a stiff pipe, I have used a bit of blue alkathene water pipe. Place clip on the rod and then slip on the pipe, needs to hold the...

I realise it's been a while since my last post but to put a full stop under this... After debating whether or not to go big bucks and get a genuine Lucas relay or a blue box 'replace it in another couple of years' job i sat back and thought about...

I agree with the chaps above regarding repairs. Do not be tempted with doing a complete strip down overhaul unless this is really your thing, so many are never finished. Keep as a rolling restoration and enjoy each fix/improvement done as you use it.

No. I bought it planning to de-cat my 2001 D2, and when I got under it to start I realised it never had one in the first place 🤣🤣

Refitted one of the spats on the rear. I’m not a fan of the original clips with the wee plastic push in pin, so I got some M6 Stainless spire clips and used those. I’ve definitely got a much more solid fixing, but I’m thinking of taking it back...

Model year? I don't put too much faith in timing lights as they are only a guide to the manuf. settings back when the engine was built. The readings don't take into account the years of wear 'n tear or the grade of petrol you are using. I've...

What have I done today... well discovered my cowboy rebuilt wheel cylinder is still leaking, so new cylinders it is! Then I started to change the springs as I have a whole new set to go on (just standard height/duty britpart, nothing special)...

Yes. I think “checked” meant that he tried really hard to get it to slip and the engine always stalled. It feels ok to me — better than it did before the clutch replacement — so I’m happier with it now than I have been since buying the vehicle...

Sorry — didn’t think to update you. It’s sorted now. The mechanic said the adjuster (at the master cylinder I assume) was wound right the way out and he hadn’t adjusted it when he fitted the new clutch. My theory is that the fluid expanded in...
