Nope but it's not the original bolt that's in, it's a newer one I fitted. I'll take it out and check it though. My hub seals are still good, it's just the pinion seal

Did you replace the bolt? Mine was blocked not the pipe Also it blew out from the hub seals

I think you will find that weld is nowhere near the cooling jacket and the block has cracked as something has let go in the bottom end in the past.

It does seem like a break up of the windings/insulation inside.

They normally make a noise when they are on the way out. I just remove these & go electric. At least the engine will warm up quicker

Yes, I have read that but haven't tried it. Maybe the new unit is working as it should and the old one didn't.

Do they not start in the "locked" position then go lose shortly after? I thought in general they usually fail in the lose position. Sorry for the crap technical terms, engine bay looks proper tidy. What brand rad did you buy in the end?

Big roll of news paper normally stops them. Better than fingers to test if they are working.

Definitely a defender type truck cab. I know when I took the glass out it was a snug fit & re used the rubbers

the thickness of the glass,thickness of panel and overall diameter will affect the fitment try Direct Seals they do a good range of clayton seal

Does the new seal look the same as the otherside? Take a photo looking from the front of the truck cab,they are a different shapes for series/defender

Thanks for the reply. I'll move them in a bit then, more central to the quarter panel or a ⅓ in? I've fitted the reflectors onto the crossmember at the outermost points, as that's where they were previously.

Bring the fog/reverse in a bit(if you have handle to affix) Also need space for the red reflectors for MOT
