Got a boost controller on my 300tdi wanting to plumb my boost gauge in now but not sure if I should t into either side of the controller pipes or if there’s a better place , the gauge is also very laggy this could be due to the cheap price of it

I was thinking of putting a vgt in to get boost earlier but If an intercooler can do it that sounds easier. Does it come as a kit?

Standard ratio 1:4 I think 265/75/r16 I get black smoke when turbo comes on boost so I presume it’s running rich on fuel so if I get more air in then I get less smoke more power so intercooler would be the way forward?

Now then is it worth me getting someone to set my 300tdi up properly , I get high Egt when towing and black smoke I understand this could be normal however I don’t knoe what’s been done to the engine previously. I’d like to know what I could do to increse towing power. Based in East Yorkshire...

Front brakes locking up on greasy road is this normal on a 1996 300tdi. Brakes tested on the last mot say the breaks all work but the fronts are a lot stronger then the rears

Can I put a gt2256v turbo on a 300tdi ? If so what will need to be done cheers

I’ve swapped master and slave and has had a new clutch, I changed the fan belt a few hundred miles ago but it looks like it’s wearing already so that’s an odd one

Now then, Looking at doing a road trip in spring in the 90 300tdi, has anyone got any advice on what to check/replace to ensure a fairly breakdown free trip. I was thinking of sending it to a specialist for an engine health check however I don’t know what this would cost
