To be fair, you've done a good few jobs that were worth doing anyway so all is good.

The F2 is about the same length and height as F1, but quite a bit wider, significantly heavier and significantly more powerful.

Thought i would update this since I have fixed the rough idle and smoke on cold start. Or rather thanks to the advice i got on this thread i fixed it. When i got the car it was blowing black and greyish smoke and surging when idle. The black...

Good report 10/10 for the TD4 Sport Auto. Never missed a beat. 1650 miles. Overall average 34.6 mpg. That included a week on Mull in 3rd and 4th gear. Motorway runs averaged 36.5 mpg at a steady 70mph over 450 miles. Took a bag of spares, lp...

The tailgate window has been discussed at length on here. There are a number of reasons as to why it won't shift. Things like the rear wiper not being parked off it (or rather the sensors not indicating that), the door latch sensor. Usually...

Are you still on your original or new aftermarket Britpart one?

Does it still drop when you open the door and raise when you close it?

At work, we can now get 300+ah lithium batteries out of China for basically the same price as we source 2 x 120ah lead acid locally.

Don't muck around trying to sort the locking nuts out, just get 5 Freelander wheel nuts from a breakers and get those locking ones taken off. Miraculously, my local stealer removed them free of charge, I followed him round the car putting the...

Good suggestions above. Which solenoid? I presume you mean starter. There is a fuel cut off solenoid on these I believe on the bulk head. Might be faulty. I believe you press to reset it, might be worth giving it a press and seeing if the...

Is that the same company that built computer keyboards 20 or 30 years ago? If so they've come on a bit. 😊

Ah yes! I saw these a while ago, but it looks like they stopped developing them and only have the fronts left in stock, I will shoot them an email to see if they are available upon request :)

I think @htr used springs from this outfit... https://dobinsons.com/ On their site, they quote a 30mm lift (more travel?) but I'm sure @htr said he got 20mm.

£50k for a Cherry. Yeh, fook right off. Ali's decent proper Freelander is much better value at £50k. Or, for £50k, you could buy a decent proper Freelander and a lifetime of diesel.

The odds are that the VCU is knackered if its never been changed. However, also make sure that the car has been maintained with the same make/model of tyres on all corners as a mismatched tyre has the affect of 'engaging' the VCU because the...

This is true, but it won't be 'freely' because it will also need to turn all the props, 2 diffs and another wheel. So it won't be like spinning the wheel on a 'normal' car, but it will turn quite freely.

it did fix the problem, thankfully , hit the wallet a bit hard but at least we are back on the road.
  • GrumpyGel
Hope it fixes the problem. There doesn't have to be a question in a post. Observations and general chat are just as much part of LZ as questions.
