Ended up shortening the driver's side latch bolt and lengthening the passenger side one, that seemed to get the bonnet opening fairly reliably.
I'll probably have to make some micro adjustments to find the sweet spot
Can't seem to open the link.
I thought this looked reasonable but apparently it only has blue backlighting.

Was talking to mate of mine yesterday who said why would I recommission my 4.2v8 over the much cheaper to run E class, I said look at the cost of repair on them and issues diesels can have over petrol, and in Land Rover world there is plenty of...
Britpart is where I got mine too. Was thinking they might be a bit long.
I tried to line the bolts up with the cleaner metal on the bracket to get it close to the original LR position, but it's definitely not exactly as it was.
I might put a...
RF interference (loads on here) or aftermarket stereo draining it - usually switched and permanent live mixed up. Or headlight wipers not parked properly.
Doesn't surprise me. I had a chat with the nice service rep from the JLR garage that services my wife's XE. For all major brands, VW, BMW, Peugeot, you name it, there will always be someone to be hired who knows those cars, maybe even the older...
Not sure about that but I would have to talk to a pro before I tried it. The current required to propel a 2 ton brick to 60 mph in under 10 seconds must be pretty high. Wouldn't want that earthing through my socks.
Glad i don't live down under!!!

I wonder how long it will be before we catch on!?
Mind you, i bet you won't be allowed to work on an ev in...
I wouldn't touch the top of that pump unless it has been off. Just the act if retightening can affect the idle. It is very sensitive. You'll need a volunteer in the car ready to kill the engine if you tap it too far and it starts revving its nuts...
ok i can officially say, smart alternators are stupid!
bearing in mind i had fully charged the battery beforehand..
Drive to work and much of the time the voltage stayed around 12.0v, going up to 13.6 only when i took my foot off the accelerator...
Rear harness almost in, engine harness connector labelled and routing figured out, dashboard removed, all after market wiring ripped out. Seems I have to pull out the heater unit as well, as the main harness passes behind it. There goes my TÜV...
Sooo, I skipped training today and attacked those harnesses!
Good new first: all colors on the Autospark one, so far, are the same as those in the repair manual (only exception in one in the engine bay). That is quite good! The rear loom is...
Yesterday i took my 1999 P38 for MOT at 2.45 pm and by 3.30 i drove it out with a pass. Not bad seeing it hasnt been on the road for 5 years but before it went in i had to replace 5 bulbs but that was all
today i taxed it.
I changed the ignition coils with new BOSCH units. problem solved!!!!!
by the way , I suspect that the problem came from a small leak from the Throttle Body Heater Plate damaging the plug , lead, and the coil for the cylinder 1 [exactly where the...
Ah, the yet unwritten future! Did I think about that the last days, or rather weeks!
Anyway, the plans changed, mainly due to budget and credit card limits.
First, things that didn't change: She will be used for a one week trip to Corsica to...
I've done it before in situ when I fitted a Speedi-Sleeve.
Belt off.
Fan off.
Get a socket on the crank pulley bolt and undo that. It's bloody tight, you might need something to stop the engine turning. Pull off the crank pulley, and retain...
