I want to plonk the m57 and 6 speed auto out the x5 in a td6, this x5 has been mapped to 300bhp and 440ibft, its fairly lively compared too the td6s

Finished. Seems to be holding OK. Took it for a test-drive and drove it like I stole it on the way back. No sign of any weeps. The turbo-wheezle has 5/8" outer diameter oil pipes. An adjustable pipe cutter does a lovely job if you undo the pipe...

Seem to be OK. Damn tight on tolerance. Fitted but just as I was reassembling the bloody rain started. ****ing it down. Back soaked through so gave up and came in. Currently looking out the window and hoping it will stop soon. Needs to handle 4...

In a similar vein, these 5/8" compression fittings have finally arived from China.

How will you stop it rusting if it doesn't leak any oil?

Good news, both heads are on and have been torqued down to ARP spec (although that doesn't feel very tight!) Next step is the exhaust manifolds, I made a start on them but the new gasket slipped between the heat shield and the engine block, so I...

For future reference, at least on a GEMS, 14mm socket on the nut, a pin spanner or something would be best to stop the clutch plate rotating whilst you loosen the nut, but I managed to just hold it with my hand. Remove clutch, there is enough...

Did you remember to push down on the front bumper before trying to pull it forward? And undo the clips either side that try to rust into a single lump?

If it isn't that bad then 1 until 3 becomes the way forward.

So i never too the range rover too the west coast, sent my pretty much lifelong mate and landy specialist, some videos of what it does after trying for like half hour to get the right bit of road and gear and throttle input, and the mrs over my...

Ha Cheers Keith I still have a Disco 2, well most of it.. I'm still in shock ;) Nope.. Her replacement. :) Never thought i'd part with the P38 but it cost a fortune to run mainly insurance which was even at 24 £170 per month plus £40 tax...

If it's a "temporary import for repair", then you should normally get the duties back when it leaves the UK again. Same with VAT. Had the same thing a few years back shipping Motorola demo kit to various non-EU countries. It a case of getting...

JFC. Might be worth a post on LZ courier service. If someone like @Mark Piercy was heading over the Channel he might get away with saying it is his spare in the boot if anyone asks.

"Give them a ring", Ha! Good one. You can't talk to anybody on the phone any longer and certainly not for this. It's not the tunnel, it's the ULEZ zone. The toll booths at Dartford were removed probably 10+ years ago to ease the congestion...

+1. It needs the Timken bearing which costs quite a lot. There was a replacement parts place in Birmingham that did an aftermarket hub with the Timken bearing but they're gone / been bought out.

I looked at this some years ago but by the time I added the cost of all the parts up it was about £100 shy of what Ashcrofts were charging for a fully refurbed transfer box with all the parts done. So I dug out the £650 and paid it. The only...

I lock mine in standard. Just let it settle at standard height and then press the inhibit switch next to the height switch and it will stay there. Data leaves his at motorway height but I am on Arnott 3 springs.

You shouldn't have more than 100 bit count difference across an axle. Sounds like bent arm. Personally I use calibration blocks and average the value across each axle. They have to be within the expected target range as well or it'll think it is...

Grrrrrr replied to the thread P38 Nanocom EDC fault code?.
I think you can ignore that. The engine isn't running at those revs. That's a measurement taken on switching off or more likely starting and the volts have dropped low causing it to log a fault for some reason. I'd just ignore it. I cannot...

We have tried to order height sensors from Island 4x4 multiple times with no luck. Either they just dont respond or they respond with no stock. Because of this we are busy developing a mod that will allow you to fit magnetic potentiometers that...

I love snow. The proper stuff that we rarely get anymore in England (when we do there's an enforced lockdown and all the roads are closed) but i love the hot sun too. All we ever seen to get is cold and damp out slightly warmer and damp. Or 'too...

Indicators overriding the hazards seems a good idea to me. Imagine being on tow, hazards on to warn traffic behind but still being able to indicate the intention to turn.

Did you use the tunnel? If not I would give them a ring. They can be helpful. A couple of years ago I went over the Dart' Bridge and was shocked to discover they don't do cash and you have to pay online within 24 hours - which I had no means of...
