I found nobody alas. I looked in France, Netherlands, Germany, Austria or Hungary last year. It seems that new is the only option. I can get GKN new and in some ways, this would be the only solution I would trust. Expensive, yes. Second hand...
Yeah, there's a lot of sellers on eBay, but I just can't get over the fear of getting scammed. I just took the prop off and am considering just reconditioning myself. I have all summer to slowly get the liquids out and in.
Tried searching, but couldn't find anything.
I reached out to Bell to get a recon VCU for my '00 1.8 Freelander. They don't seem to do overseas business. As I am in the EU, this is an issue. Does anyone know of a reputable dealer for properly...
Received the CV Axle and front diff mount. CV Axle was wrapped in paper and of unclear origin, but the angle seems correct.
Did the OWUT and failed it. I'm starting to suspect that not all of the judder is due to the axle. I'm hoping that the...
1) Probably
2) Probably a year or two
3) Sorry no idea.
Removing the propshaft is less of an issue in a TD4 than the 1.8 because the K series is so light. I found my 1.8 was very understeery in 2WD.
A bit late to the party, but this is a fairly long thread. I got a OWUT time of 100 sec. It's knackered. I bought the vehicle about a 1000km ago. It's got 190k km. My questions are:
1) Could this be an original VCU?
2) How long has this been an...
Just got confirmation from F4 and they're shipping soon. Couldn't find an easier(and affordable) supplier. Didn't specify GKN, but had the same parts nr. and the price was in range. Will post again once it's installed.
Haven't experienced this in a LR, but had a similar issue with a Micra. The issue was a corroded earthing point and partly ruined wiring. Check wiring, check earth points and check if it's charging, like JD said.
Have you confirmed the battery is charging.
Could be a bad earth, when it gives the fault test battery voltage plus to minus and also plus to earthed points, ie the engine. Should all be similar readings.
I've considered getting a 3d printer, but mostly for bits and bobs. Upholstery clips, the smashed end of the roof rack and some lesser pieces. Depending on one's views on reproducing existing parts, the light protectors could be an idea. I don't...
Took my "new" Freelander 1 to a trusted mechanic. Looking to hear from him tomorrow. I have little experience with 4x4 or land rovers so I'm asking him to diagnose my rattle/shudder. I wasn't able to narrow it down at home, but I'm leaning...
Yeah, it's for a less used daily driver, so changing yearly sounds a bit tedious. I'll try to find a more convenient supplier for GKN. I hope it doesn't come to changing both. Appreciate it!
Hello everyone!
New member, but this subject is probably as old as my vehicle(2000 Freelander 1).
I'm probably up for a change of CV Axle(s). I have a mean shudder at acceleration in the 4th gear, around 50-70km/h. Due to delivery times, price...
