It's a good make, all our cambelts are gates however when its dearer than genuine by about 25 quid then genuine is a no brainer

For these parts genuine is the way to go at least for the belt, Dayco are cr*p, if you want aftermatket get Contitech... That "OEM" term has almost zero relevance these days

I need to replace the aux belt and tensioner on my td5 disco. What brands would people recommend? Genuine tensioner isn't horrendous money but I've seen a SNR one advertised as OEM. I'll get a dayco belt.

About 5 years ago I replaced the front swivels on mine and replaced the seals at the same time. I bought FTC4822.C8 from lrdirect. I bought 3 as I thought there was a chance I would damage one on fitting, which, amazingly, I didn’t. These have...

I think I may of read your thread. The NAK seal was harder to install than the previous however my previous one had ripped the centre. Fingers crossed for this new one. Can't believe seal fitment is still an issue in 2024

Had to fit another seal today, the first seal i replaced grabbed the axle and tore! Just fitted a NAK one which appears larger so we shall see.

I hope my first reply didn't seem argumentative as that wasn't my intention at all! My seal was leaking horrendously and I need the car for a weekend camping trip. I fitted the new all makes seal tonight, ensured everything was as clean as...

Frazzle posted the thread LR Newbie in Introduce Yourself.
Hi all, just thought I'd introduce myself. Recently purchased my first ever landrover, a pretty well used discovery 2 manual with a Td5. I'm not new to working on cars I've lived and breathed cars since I was 17ish now 27 and was a mechanic...

I did read your posts from way back. I can't believe this is still an issue. It appears that they sell loads of the all makes seals on JGS all with 5 star reviews. My local independent LR specialist JSF in Norwich supplied me an all makes seal...

So I changed my ball joints at the weekend one side and I had to remove and install the shaft a couple times due to the tapers on the ball joint not allowing the knuckle to sit correctly. I can only assume I've disturbed the seal as its now...
