Job done.
The lamp has very short leads so these needed extending about 6". I had a bit of 2 core in my 'I'll keep that, might be useful one day' box so that was soldered and heat shrink wrapped and poked through the rubber socket franger, bit...
That will work. 😊
I changed my disco reverse bulbs a couple of year ago for fun, the only thing that changed was the colour, a white light with a faint blue tinge, the light was a bit brighter but without any extra range of illumination which I...
I think the wiring would be OK , i was just concerned about the becm handling it without getting grumpy.
I intend wiring it to the aux caravan socket which has reverse wiring in it so that will be fine. I might refit the old reverse bulbs to get...
It came today then left again as I wasn't in, bugger.
I'll go to the depot tomorrow and collect it , stretch the p38s legs a bit, dual carriage way all the way for 6 miles.
Ordered the above lamp after having a quick look at the other socket I have on the back. Not sure what it's for even though I replaced it 3+ years ago because it was already there but rusted out. Its got a white coloured spring cover rather than...
I've been out all weekend, so will find out a bit later.
Ok I've been stupid and used the wrong tracking number. There's several on the receipt. It's showing as still not delivered
Check the photo. Had that before and it was to a house 1/2 a mile away - I didn't even recognise the property. Only by chance did one of their friends know one of my friends and knew my name. Feckin useless f*ckwits.
All too common now. 'Luckily' my evri guy leaves stuff around the back for us, no knock, no card, I just have to check every morning at his favourite place if I'm expecting something.
Only yesterday I heard a knock at the door, took me 10 secs...
It's the halfords off road ones I used, not impressed tbf. The hole in the wheel well is where me water runs out :vb-lol: , assuming you mean the bung hole near the turret with the thread in it?
I got an LED spotlight and mounted it from that hole in the wheel-well. Ran power out to it and then used a relay off the reversing light wire at the rear light cluster. You can't see the light unit unless you go looking underneath but when I...
@h1tchiker All fairly common faults and have been covered lots of times on here and other p38 sites so a search for range rover p38 blend motors should bring up lots of info. I've done the drivers side heater motor without removing the dash ɓut...
Brilliant! Never occurred to me to use the trailer wiring. I've got the socket on the back but don't know if I've got a reverse feed there or is it somewhere else on all 38's regardless?. I did redo the socket 3 yrs ago as it was a rusty mess and...
18 watts additional load should be operated from the reverse lamps via a relay. Leave the existing bulbs in place.
An alternative is to use the trailer wiring to drive the lamp unit., I can supply the connection info if you want it.
I'd put the standard bulbs back into the reverse lights and just do a temp wiring job to see if all gels well. As long as the aux light your fitting is adapted to bulb detection systems like the 38 has then it should be OK and as the new part is...
Can't see much when reversing in the dark, replacement led bulbs from halfords a bit better but still poor.
I've spotted a durite(usually good quality stuff)reverse lamp that will fit quite neatly under the rear bumper for around £30. 6" wide, 1"...
Lots of running around yesterday. Wife and her sister into Sheffield for Strictly Come Dancing show there and back plus pick ups and drop offs. Warm and toasty in the old P38 all day. THEN got down to arena and picked them up, started up and...
