Ok found the time to do the job, easy with your excellent instructions, thank you. That Y piece had been 'siliconed' to the block presumably to try and stop the leak. Cleaned it all up and refitted the replacement. It still leaks!!!
However, I have now got a video of it. It was a pretty 'loose'...

ahhh ... so there's another bit of plastic which fits to the hose (currently still on the radiator hose in the car) then the two bits clip together and retain with a clip ... right?
That makes more sense. Won't have a chance to look until next weekend now but will be happy to get it sorted...

Yeah it does ... it looks different though. I mean I haven't had a chance to take it all apart yet but why does that replacement water connector (I have just got the same part) have a shamfer and no lip? I mean, i'm looking at it thinking is a jubilee clip really going to hold the hose on that...

Well, the original 3 door passed its MOT! Result, will shortly be selling it I think. In the meantime, Rimmers are posting me those parts to tackle the water leak on the commerical along with 2 new rear brake drums / shoes etc. No sealing gasket in stock for that Y piece so will bea waiting 2 or...

Update: She's booked in for MOT friday ... underside had the lanoguard treatment, seems a pretty impressive product but time will tell ... pretty sure I've fixed or replaced everything that might be an issue ... everything except the interior overhead light works (fuse ok, bulb looks good...
