Thanks to all for your input. I'm waiting for a new stop cable to arrive (the old one was on the point of breaking due to shafing) and then I can go back to the Belgian MoT guys
Hello Anaconda and Tottot,
Lile I said, I looked into it today... I took out the start and stop combination and went to a Land Rover wizard with it. He opened it up and then we saw that the system that makes it impossible to pull the key out...
Indeed Lynall, the car is a pull cable stop and I can remove the ignition key while the car is running. The MOT guys don't accept that, especially with the wheel lock...
Hello Flossie,
Here are some pictures of it. It was only on the road from mid 1980 untill end of 1986. Then it sat in a boat hangar for 30 years. I bought it in 2017 and started restoring it. Now, 8 years later I'm ready to go to the Belgian MOT...
Advise needed... I can remove my starting key while the motor is running on my 1980 series 3 Diesel... Is this like this with all Series 3 diesels? Because the Belgian MOT says they can't allow that... thank you for your help

I'm the proud owner of a 1980 Land Rover 109 Diesel Station Wagon which I have been restoring for the last 8 years. I hope to have a lot of fun with it in the coming years...
