    Possible, but the previous bearing was original. and i have reused the outer race.

    I had this problem. The cage doesn't hold the rollers tight enough to slip in. Genuine bearing needed.

    hi, without the mainshaft in position the bearing rollers slip in easily but it seems impossible with the mainshaft in, with the reverse idler held up.

    got new bearings and on first rebuild box jammed- found i had broken layshaft bottom bearing when i installed it- new parts and cannot get layshaft home....

    Not Sure if it was assembled correctly before - the damage is extensive. lay shaft badly damaged as well.

    One on left is the possible source of bits apart from reverse, which i buggered up by bump starting in reverse. both S3
