    thanks for the idea - I will definitely do that. Unfortunately since I posted the issue here I have come off my mountain bike and smashed my elbow up, so can’t use my left arm in the short term. I’ll hoik out the filter as soon as I can and post some pics of the results 👍

    Thanks - sound advice! I’ll trailer it to the garage. Unfortunately I’m in France and JLR main dealer is my only option (locals drive Japanese kit). Just to prepare myself, if it’s a big end tap, or a crank, what kind of money would you expect to pay for the job?
