It is a vehicle designed nearly 80 years ago based on the WW2 Jeep. Both are still one of the best off road.
Not many other vehicles that have their base from that era still in use today. Long live the Series.

In terms of safety, economy, ergonomics. Yes, crap.
In terms of long term ownership, resilience, dependability, avoidance of fragile electronics, and simplicity they are excellent.
And coil springs aren't as good...
Good afternoon LZ'ers 14 months ago I started working on Leylandi and today it's the first time I've given her a proper wash and wax. She's looking a bit more presentable these days.
When cold I find it is good to turn engine over for 2/3 seconds before giving heat. This puts some fresh fuel vapour in the combustion chambers to warm up.
Todays update… It runs
Flat battery so out came the jump pack. Cranked a few times to check stuff.
Took out a plug.. spark
Cleaned rotor arm
Disconected fuel lift pump and nothing coming out manually & engine crank.
Rig up petrol can on...
Another series 3 owner here ;)
Mine had an intermittent starting issue but it was a sticking starter. I replaced it then the starter solenoid failed. Easy to replace just a couple of bolts on each and doesn't cost a lot.
