Got a bit more done this morning, cam chain and sprockets off, rocker assemblies, pushrods, followers, cam, valley gasket and both heads. The head bolts were the tightest thing i've ever had to undo, broke one socket but managed to get it done...

Ok thanks thats good info will have a hunt around see if it fits the GEMs cover or hunt down a GEMs disco front cover. J

Its standard fitment for thor discos.

If you look in the above photo you'll see the old cover in the background that has the adapter fitted to it.

Picked up a new 4.6 for parts and possibly block. Front cover is identical and undamaged,oil pump is also intact and looking great. Just need to fit my oil filter angled adapter on and will be golden.

Got a fair bit more progress to show you guys! Stripped the block of front cover, cam chain and sprockets, camshaft, pistons & rods, crankshaft and sump. Here's some pics... Then I cleaned the sump... Then I removed...

Progress so far... Air box etc out of the way. Upper intake manifold off. Lower intake manifold, coil packs, fan, belts, pulleys, coolant hoses and rocker covers etc. Heads off. The problem cylinder, all liners look and feel ok for...
