hi all , I'm having my Salisbury diff being rebuilt , the mechanic doing it for me says there is play between the planet gears and the crown wheel , he has tried to get shims but says he can't get any , has anyone else come across this and if so how did you overcome this ? Many thanks

Topped the grease up in the swivels, ordered new ones , new bearings as a slight squeal is now noticeable. So thanks to everyone . :)

No squealing, I expect with my luck it will be an expensive repair :(.

I own a 110 300 tdi, I have just had the cambelt and a full service done, there are a few other jobs that need doing , like the prop shaft ujs and the swivels are weeping . It has recently started to feel like its seizing up after about 20 mins driving and a vibration that I think is coming from...
