Another update. So I’ve fitted the new trigger wheel and a Bosch sensor that says is equivalent to part number LR000681 and I’ve fitted the correct later pulley.
She still doesn’t start. I put the Noid Bulb back on the injector loom and no sign...
Exactly that. My pick up ring was a mess with multiple areas where the outer edge had chunks missing. I have the later style pulley and pick up ring and I think now I have the correct part number for the CPS
I don't think you can get the original.
You have to replace it with the new one and changed pulley.
I presume the OP asked for a timing ring for Freelander 2 and got what he asked for as it the only 1 available. Who ever sold it, didn't...
Yes. But I’m assuming there are 2 part numbers. 1 for sensor appropriate to the original pick up ring and another one that must be slightly different as the newer pick up ring sits closer to the crank?
Ps now I have the updated tone ring and the later crank pulley does anyone have the correct part number for the relevant Crank position sensor to line up with the new tone ring? :)
Just a misunderstanding. In my head the crank pulley was the toothed sprocket. I now realise you were referring to the pulley that runs the auxillary belt. Yes the timing may have moved enough for a non start in theory. The reason I did all this...
You are definitely right to get the correct CPS setup installed.
Don't be to surprised if it still doesn't fire the injectors though, as there are other things that can stop them. They are of course controlled by the ECU, so if the ECU isn't...
Good morning,
So on your Advice I got a Noid light kit. This showed that the injectors are not firing so it must be the CPS. I have purchased the new trigger wheel and the later crank pulley. Does anyone know the part number for the Crank...

sorry long story short. I ordered a new pick up ring not realising the early one had a built in spacer where as the new one is thin. Fitting the new ring on the old pulley means nothing lines up so to get it working we made a spacer. I have...
Hi folks. I’ve still got the same non start issue. I’ll provide an update of what we’ve tried. The pick up ring was badly worn with bits on the outside of the ring missing. I’ve got a new ring and we’ve temporarily made up a spacer so the new...
Thankyou for the info, it’s much appreciated. I have looked at the updated trigger wheel kit, the only bit that I can’t quite figure out is the new style trigger wheel doesn’t seem to have the wider centre which means it sits closer to the crank...
There are 2 types, an early which gave many problems, so was superceded pretty early on. This means that most were replaced for the more reliable later type under warranty, but it looks like yours wasn't.
You'll need to replace the sensor...
Hey folks.
I’ve purchased a new pick up ring that sits between the crank and Aux pulley from INA however although I am told it was correct for my 2007 freelander 2 it doesn’t seem to be correct. It fits the same as the OE one howecer the OE...
Another issue. After swapping out my EGR cooler I still have a leak from rear left of the engine.
I thought the waterpump could be the culprit but to be sure I decided to remove the lower cambelt cover so I could observe it when running. To do...
I understand that yes, and see picture below as this is the difference. I was just hoping that someone had actually managed to to buy and fit one that is the correct size. I did spot that it says suitable for 2008-2012. Mines an 07 but I’m sure...
Nothing I can obviously see, the diaphragm is in one piece and the spring seems fine. The only but that I would question is every PCV I’ve seen has a plastic reinforcing ring under the diaphragm. My OE one literally is the spring, diaphragm and...
Hi folks, I’m trying to just replace the PCV round cover/spring and diaphragm. I’ve ordered one which was incorrect and tbh I’m struggling to find the right one. My Freelander is a 2007 “07” model.
Does anyone have the link for the correct...
I ordered this PCV and it doesn’t fit, even though it says it does. The new one is too big.
Does anyone have the link so I can order the correct part?
Cheers :-)
Just that, the spring can get knacked and some diaphragm split, they're usually robust ...

There's always some oil in the intake trunking. Just make sure the top pipe joint is secured with a worm clip, rather than the factory band clamp.
The PCV on these engines seldom gives trouble.
