Contact cleaner spray cleans out any previously applied lubricants and dirt.

Don’t squirt like wd40 or anything in the ignition barrel. It gums it up. Use a graphite spray or scribble on your key with a pencil, Itl lubricate it without residue

Mine will sometimes lock the doors on a battery reconnect, never quite worked out why. I always have the drivers door window open when working on the car.

How can you clear the RF memory if as you state, you cannot access the BECM. If you can access the BECM to clear the RF memory, that pretty much confirms that the BECM is not locked.

You seem to have 2 problems because a lock and un lock with the key should clear the message so that's one problem. The other problem is the FOB not working which if the key was working properly would not be a problem.
