Leave hand brake on & rock/rotate the wheel forward & bacward. You will see the nose of the diff lift up if knackered.
You can also put a bar in between the axle and the a frame arms & lever them up to check

If I did make them again I would make a couple tweaks...
Mine was so seized in place I had to use a trolley jack pushing a crobar to dislodge the a frame from the axle.
Bolts on the arm to the A frame would not come undone even with heat + 1500nm buzz gun. So grinder. Get new bolts
