I can't really see how anything belt driven can spin after shut off, if it does then it shouldn't be that hard to find out what it is. Can you not run it with one belt on at a time? It could be any of the belt driven parts if it is a belt driven...

If you are paying to get the cambelt done then it will cost no more to get the water pump changed, worth thinking about if you are not happy doing such jobs yourself.

Surely it all depends on how long the cables are for the sensors. I wouldn't bother with a display, just use the sound of the beeps. I would be interested in seeing how you attach the sensors though.

I would seal over the original if there is no sign of it coming off. The windscreen to roof has a foam/rubber seal but I would also seal the outside with a pu sealer of some sort. I would also fit a new windscreen seal, bulkhead to screen panel...

How did you check the pulleys, did you take the belts off?

I guess it's all relative, vehicle prices have shot up and so will parts prices. My 1st car ,Mk1 Escort cost £180, if only I still had it!

Just start at one end of the vehicle undoing anything going from the body to chassis. Take your time and you will be fine. You have pretty much done the rear end before. You will need someone to degas the air-conditioning, it's illegal to vent...

Do not overtighten the oil filter housing that spins, just a socket on a screwdriver hand tight, so many people go in there giving them bolts a hard time and it destroys the threads

Crap old pics, but you can see what I did, pics dated 2015 and all still okay. Just wired to a toggle switch under the dashboard. Car runs fine even with the pump switched off, but will lack power on hills until you switch the pump back on. Also...

If you take the pipe off the inlet to the filter and crank it do you get a good squirt of fuel? With the Britpart lift pump I use ptfe tape on the threads of the pipes and do them up pretty tight, I have found quality a little erratic over the...

I had a session on the handbrake this morning. It's been getting less effective lately and as I suspected, oil has been getting inside from the transfer box. I'd got a new kit of shoes and springs so I put those on, and a new cable. I got a new...

Thought you had a Ninety with a 200tdi in it? Unless you have a Series aswell? If it is a tdi take the belts off but don't run it long with no belt. Stick a endoscope up the timing belt cover drain hole to look at the timing belt. If it is a...
