Because it hasn't, what they might have meant was a condenser. It would cost a fair bit of money to replace everything with new.

No swarf in ours at all, ran perfect with no smoke for 9 years until it didn't. You can buy clear pipe in B&Q to use on a temp basis or clear fuel pipe on Ebay.

Since you have ordered a new pump you might aswell fit it, atleast you will have ruled that out if it still doesn't start/run properly.

It's possible that your pump needs a rebuild, your symptoms are pretty much the same as my son's 200tdi. We exhausted every other option in the vain hope it wasn't the most expensive part in the system.

Don't know what you will see underneath? Are you saying the heater fan comes on when you are driving and goes off when you stop?

I think you might have answered your own problem. Fuel leaking out will most likely mean air getting in.

Yes intentionally masked the tow ball off because of that reason, but after you said it i probably should have wire wheel the paint off and polished that too 😂 anyway I have purchased a Land Rover tow ball cover now to hide that bit lol

Sounds more like a whining noise or screeching even. Turbo, exhaust manifold? TD5 is it?

That looks worth the money now. You do know that the paint will come off the first time you attach a trailer don't you? 🤣

Having just had a new clutch fitted on a 200tdi it made no noticeable difference to the lightness of the pedal. Remote servo shouldn't cost a great deal in parts, have a chat with your local specialist. It will be the best option for your medical...

Fit a remote servo for the clutch, it will be as light as a feather then. I have one on the Td5 and it really is no different than my modern car, it was fitted by the previous owner. Can't see why you can't fit one on a tdi.

I do like the Dixon bate ones but just like the look of these ones more, ended up rubbing down and 5 coats of primer, painted drop hitch satin black as well, going to lacquer the hitch once it’s painted to hopefully give it a bit more protection

Years ago I remember an old guy telling when he bought new oil he immdeiately decanted it into a 5 litre pouring jug, then put the old drained oil into the new shiny oil container and left it outside his garage, every time it would disappear...

You need a fan cowl. Our 2a had a Series 3 rad in it with a fan cowl and the additional cowl you can get. You could run it all day without getting hot. A capillary gauge with numbers is excellent in these old motors to keep an eye on temps. The...

Weber carbs are known for not starting when hot, all the same the over heating problems need sorting first.. Does it have a rad fan and cowl?

Ours has never said anything to me, I use a 20lit tub as a waste oil container.

I reckon you would be better of buying a Dixon Bate one for a little bit more.

Diesel Bob seems quite popular and turn around time was pretty good for us.

Take it to the dump, might be best not to take 50lit in one go.

You can get a tool off ebay quite cheaply that holds the injection pump drive sprocket in place whilst inj pump is removed.

It's about £25 and work well, comes with timing pins and crankshaft pulley.

Makes you wonder about what it's made from and how strong it is. Taking into account shipping and profit etc your £40 is probably more like £10 worth.

Welcome, you a youngster then? How much was your insurance and who is it with?
  • A
Yes that's pretty much what we paid with vat. Think Diesel Bob starts from £300 +vat, price goes up depending on work needed when stripped down.
  • A
That's at the top end of the price scale. Diesel Bob charges depend on what's wrong with it, ours was not far off that price.
