If you rechecked all your work I guess there is a possibility it's not fuel related and it's a coincidence perhaps. Maybe reading some live data might be helpful? Hopefully @sierrafery would have some helpful ideas, he has a lot of experience...

I have had a thought about this problem, yes I know that's a dangerous thing, could a wibbly wobbly crank damper be a cause of problem? I was thinking excessive vibration affecting the alignment of the belt. What do you think, am I talking rubbish?

Took my TD5 out for a drive. It is now pretty much rattle free after adjusting the rear end door and passenger door. Also the new drop arm seems to have improved the steering kick back on pot holes. I'm happy with the little improvements.
