Owned my Td5 90 since 2008 but has been standing unused for the past 6 years due to various reasons but more recently illness.
I have just sent the car to my local mechanic who will be putting it up on the ramp to assess the rot. It’s obviously not going to be good news but hopefully it will be better than I expected. The first step in my plan is to get the rear crossmember welded or replaced which is my preferred option.
Once the chassis is made sound the process of restoration can begin. I drove it yesterday for about a mile and although the brakes were not good they do work to some extent but the steering was a little vague and will definitely be in line for a good overall. From there on steering, tyres and a revised plan will hopefully be the next step.
