    Central locking electrics (again)

Thanks NeilB. The situation gets more curious. Assuming that I should only see one or other of the pink or orange wires shorted to earth depending on whether the last instruction was lock or unlock, I took off the instrument panel, disconnected the green plug on the alarm ECU and tested...

    Central locking electrics (again)

I know similar questions have been asked before but I don't seem to have any of the issues previously discussed. I have a 2005 TD5 SW with OEM central locking and alarm. The 20a fuse blows every time I try to use the central locking. It typically locks then blows immediately on unlocking. I...

    110 dashboard upgrade

Hi, I suspect that a full upgrade would be quite a challenge requiring changes to the wiring loom etc. If you want the full factory dash I would suggest a scrapped vehicle would be the best source. For an easier, bespoke upgrade how about this: Iron Goat Four Wheel Drive Products ? You'll...

    TD5 driving/front fog light switch

Hi, Attached is a diagram of the bodge I used to install this switch. Hopefully it is clear enough. If not give me a shout. Basically the switch works on the earth for the light circuit. No idea why and not very helpful so I used the switched earth (pin 1) to trigger a micro relay...

    Air con

I have a 2005 110 with standard aircon. It sits under the main dash and blows cold air out of a row of slots running from from side to side at around knee height. While this produces a flow of cold air around the front footwell it struggles to cool the whole interior of a 110 SW. I would...

    dual batteries for TD5

Hi, I've just bought the National kit plus two Numax 86ah batteries (claimed to be good for both deep cycle and cranking) and a battery tray from APB Trading. I might get round to trying to fit them this weekend. If so, I'll post pictures. I was warned off using the original battery...

    Securing Rooftents?.......

Hi, Just back from Eastnor. The fixings I saw last time are called Nogo and are sold by OEC or from this website Security Fasteners & Screws | Sentinel Security Screws, Security Fixings, Armour Rings, No-Go Security Screws & Tamper Pin Screws in the UK along with a load of other types...

    Securing Rooftents?.......

If you don't want to spend a lot and know you're not going to want to take the rack off (without having to cut/drill the fixings) these would probably do: Security Shear Nut A2 Stainless Steel M10 Pack of 10 - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys Cheers, Steve

    Securing Rooftents?.......

These are the ones I used on my fog lights. I could only source them from the US so they are quite expensive. However, there is a version sold over here which I saw at Billing. Can't remmember what they're called though. Barrinut Lock Systems Given the cost of a rooftent it is probably...

safari snorkel / defender door mirrors

The Safari snorkel on my TD5 has a preformed dent in it to allow the mirror to swing round when the door opens. It will connect if the mirror arm is set in the forward position but not if it is in the rear position. Even so it won't dent as it's plastic. If you push the mirror arm against...

    Extra fuel tank won't fill

Hi, Took delivery of a Safari Equip SS wheel arch tank for my TD5 110 yesterday. I'll be fitting it this weekend. The instructions are a bit limited so I'll spend plenty of time sizing the task up especially as I need to drill the existing tank. I'll run the fuel level down as far as...

Any One Buying A new 90?

    Safari snorkel

If there is such a thing as a ram effect (which I personally doubt) running with the head backwards will remove it. Running with the head rearwards might stop dust etc being drawn into the inlet which I would think is probably true at slow speeds. If travelling at speed I would think a low...

    110 dashboard upgrade

You'll find a lot of info on ths site and in previous threads: www.REEDX.net Given the complexity of some of the 2002 dash switch wiring etc you might find a Mud Dash (www.mudstuff.co.uk) a simpler job. You'll be able to use more generic swtichgear with simpler fitting.
