Can anyone tell me where the ECU is located in a 1997 Land Rover Defender? Any help would be appreciated.

Looks from this that if you've got one it might be under the centre front seat, see page 87, section 19

What engine is in it? I wasn't aware that they put ECU's on defenders until 1999 when they introduced the TD5

plenty of the 300s had one as well

Mine had one. Don't know what it does. I unplugged it and took it out and nothing has changed.
