Help needed ASAP - WTF is this....

If it is a dim-dip resistor, then link it out. The one on our 90 is, and (apparently) the headlights have worked in the past! Just make sure the wiring is all connected up right and is a heavy enough gauge for the current. Dim-dip was a UK only regulation from the late 80's I think. As the name...

    6ft 6 - Will i fit in a 90?

Dad bought the 1988 90 we've got now. He's also 6ft6. He only bought it for playing in. Felt like he was having to look out the very top of the window and that his legs got a bit uncomfortable if sat for a long time. Didn't fit the mud runners or remove the bh. I'm going to fit the runners tho...

Mint Tdi Defender found on ebay. Only £19,995

It's round the corner from us. Was thinking of going to see the 1988 90 he's got- it's the twin of mine and need to see where all the bits go! It's come down by 2.5k in a week. Agree that 20k is mental though!!

    Accident damage - likely costs

The estimates from the repair prices are always eye wateringly expensive! I rear ended a Citroen c2 at about 5mph at a roundabout in my mini (BMW). I had a loose number plate- C2 needed a new bumper and boot pan(must be made of fag paper and chewing gum). insurance company wanted 2.5k to fix it...

    Top gear last night

I think the main issue with the defender is that they can't viably make it meet new safety regs. Think they're having to reclassify it as a truck to stretch it out a few years longer. It's been switched between passenger vehicle and truck a few times I think. Sarah

Newby East Midlands 1988 90 County - Project

Just seen this on eBay! Looks great! Think we'll try and keep mostly original like this. Been trying to find some county interior photos so this has been handy. It's round the corner from us, so may have a look!! http://bit.ly/Ytdv6W

Newby East Midlands 1988 90 County - Project

Thanks. It's not too bad. All missing bits are in the parents garage, but that's 120 miles away! What we've seen of the chassis it looks good. Think the bulk head has been protected by the thick layer of oil all over everything under the bonnet. The pillar on the bulk head needs welding...

    td5 leaky sunroofs

Welcome! My dad didn't tell me his disco 2 had this problem. I found out when we went round a corner and the headlining p****d all over me. He never fixed it- just didn't sit where it leaked! Enjoy!!!

    Ere, what's this bit for?

It's probably to let the water run down. We've done it on our golf to stop the water running into the car. The idea is that it runs down the plastic to the drain holes. We used heavy duty bin bags and duct tape. Classy!!

    my 90 project

This looks quite handy for spraying the inside of the chassis: http://bit.ly/13tUpky I'm not planning a full strip down, so looks a bit easier than tipping it inside the chassis! I don't want it to turn into a 3 year plus project! ;)

Retro fit seat belts 90 side facing sears

Thanks for the replies! I think! Station House- we're getting Jimmy on Tuesday (it's a him). Was wondering if we parked him next to a her would we get some baby landies? Seems a good idea to me! Was only thinking that last time I sat in the rear seats I kept sliding off, but thought that any...

Retro fit seat belts 90 side facing sears

I did think it was odd it doesn't have them, as its a 1988! Then again 3 of the seats aren't fitted either. Maybe I'll chalk them up on the list of things my dad and brother removed and never got round to refitting! They must still exist somewhere! Probably in my dads garage. although possible...
