When I took the door card off to repair the electric wiper motor on my tratta there is a clear plastic sheet between the card and the door, what's it for?

To stop the wet air in the door from ruining the door card, most cars have it. Think how wet your window is every time you wind it down (usually!).

It's probably to let the water run down. We've done it on our golf to stop the water running into the car. The idea is that it runs down the plastic to the drain holes. We used heavy duty bin bags and duct tape. Classy!!

Ah, but this is a Landy.
It stops the water that has leaked in from getting out again through the door!

cheers chaps, there was a few holes in mine and i was half tempted to cut a new section from some plastic bale sheet
