    300 tdi tyres

Hi all I have goodyear HP all round on my disco and been impressed with their performance, however, one front one now has a split in between the tread about 1.5" long, so tyre is shagged ( 3mm tread left). The other front looks a bit perrished only in between the treads (2.5mm tread left). They...

A lot of disco's suffer failure of the spider unit. It is a junction box in the alarm imobiliser system. Alarm/Immobiliser problem - Not spider

My alternator failed recently which discharged the battery. The central locking would not work so i opened door with key. When I got in, there was a chattering noise from relay under dash and the alarm was beeping intermittantly. Maybe you have a bad earth to the alarm system? Just a thought.

    300tdi

Hi All 300tdi's originally fitted with viscous fan. the hotter the engine the faster the fan turns. I took mine off and fitted an electric fan. Engine heats up quicker and also get slightly better MPG as the engine not turning fan all the time.

    300TDI imobiliser

Hi Does the by-pass by-pass the whole alarm and imobiliser? if so, can you still use the key fob to open the doors, or can you only use the key? I would prefere to do this then fit my own alarm and imobiliser. Is this possible?? Cheers again Andy

Hi Slither I have just fitter heavy duty springs to my disco 300tdi what a difference. I was a bit concerned it would make the ride realy rarsh, but it is fine. As I remember there are just another few sunken bolts in the housing to remove and the thing will come off. You dont need to remove timing belt or anything major. I cleaned the housing and the block before fitting the gasket with a little Hylomar jointing compound and it has been fine since. I...
