TD4/5 engines Polamerise(sp) Bio diesel and effectivly ruin the injectors over about 10,000 miles. It's not the quality, but the oil type that causes a problem. As I understand a little of the Biocide used will assist, this can be a cheap addtive or a tiny amount of Petrol (2-5%) but personaly...

I just brought a '95 300Tdi ES Auto leather, Aircon, Airbags etc for £2000 with a brand new engine covered for 12 months/12,000 miles :cool: They are out there! Buy one, dump the EGR, remove and clean the intercooler with parafin then tweak the pump for some 'Vrooom':D

I'd get a recon or a secondhand box, are you going to do it yourself? Rebuild kits are fine, but you still need special pullers and be able to set end float etc. IMHO The cost of the tools will out weight the cost of a new recon box.
