my disco insurance is up for renewal but since i took out current policy i have fitted a-bar, spots, side steps, rear lights guards, i now it will affect my insurance quotes but could do with insurance companies names who specialise in the 4x4 cover

thanx jj

Hi jay jay I dont know how it works in UK I think you should increase your sum insured to include those extras, for your info I insure my vehicle with a specialist insurer

Tricky one, as you don't want them to think its a modified vehicle, so get a new company, and just up the price.

Peter Best, quoted me £180 for 5000 miles on my 1994 300-ES Disco, no need for NCR, just pay 20% + 5 instalments:cool:

I don't know about 4x4 specialists, but as a young driver I had plenty of issues, farcical quotes and rejections whilst hunting insurance on mine and by far and away the most helpful (and according to friends in insurance/roadsafety, the best insurers, period) and CHEAPEST were norwich union... happy hunting! hope it helps.

No9rwich union are great at taking money but shyte at paying out. Dont use them, Bouyson speaks with forked tongue.

Adrian Flux are about the cheapest out there for modded vehicles.

i don't think the mods you have listed will really do a lot to your insurance, they are more accesories than mods, i assume the abar is one of those plastic ones, spotlights are just extra lighting, light guards protect your lights and side steps are neither here nor there, i just wouldn't bother telling them after all there is only about 300 quids woth of accesories there in total

no the a-bar is steel one when i got it from john craddocks they advised me to notify insurance company.

since had a quote from adrian flux for £340. cheaper than current policy :D
