Very interesting, thank you. I've always wondered what the inside of the injector looked like. Are the bits (like needle and Spring) expensive? Can you actually adjust the break off pressure or is there a selection of springs?

I wondered what that spacer was for when I got a new lift pump. Do you know why the lack of spacer brings the governor in early?

Diesel or petrol would help a bit. But assuming it's diesel, there's a plastic adjuster where the outer terminates above the pump. However, it seems unlikely that it would take up half the travel, so maybe the outer is unseated where it enters the pedal box.

Hmm, not convinced it's the clutch given the contents of that bucket. Virtually no oil and a metal paste could stop the 1/2 slidey thing moving. And you might want too drain the transfer box as well, that maybe where the rest of the gearbox oil is.

Fair enough. If there is a lot of fuel around when the union is slackened, does that mean the pump is ok and it's likely to be lack of compression.

Just to throw more confusion into the pot... I would concentrate on the two injectors that don't appear to work. You've had the injectors tested so that leaves either the pump or low compression. Don't know whether you can do this on a 200 but can you leave an injector out of the head and...

I did it by filling the slots then fitting the block. Wait for it to cure then cut away excess. (Mind you I found the cork seals reasonably easy with two feeler gauge blades)

There are 5 main types of stainless and umpteen grades within that. Many of which easily exceed the 8.8 metric spec. The trouble is one ss bolt is not the same as another, so a bag from screwfix will, as you say, be soft and prone to shear. Buy a reasonable bolt and there will be no problem...
