Series 3 Windscreen washer switch dead

Yup, the rectangular bit on the back/end of the switch body is SPB100. If that spade has broken, the wire can be cut and screwed in same as the earth is on the other terminal. I guess the spade is only there really to make it an insulated connection, it being the live input. Mine was actually...

Series 3 Is my propshaft barking?

Last prop I bought was from paddocks, and was advertised as Britpart. Stamped GKN though, when it arrived. Its been absolutely fine.

Series 3 Windscreen washer switch dead

The wash switch on mine died this week, the only wash/wiper switch I could find online was a single speed, and was £30 odd. All I needed was the wash switch. Blanchards have them for about a fiver, SPB100. Remove the dash, undo the two wires, and the wash switch unscrews from the wiper switch...

    Speedo cable

Right enough Graham, Bearmach was the one. Just surprised to get a random part from Craddocks, I expected Britpart, but its not. P.O.S. though. Britpart would likely have been that too :) Give Craddocks their due, I asked them to send the cable out seperately after they told me of the delay...

    Speedo cable

Cable from Craddocks arrived today. It wasn't in a blue bag, just in a box. Had a label on a piece of string, said "Autocar parts". Deffo not saying britpart on it anywhere. The end that goes into the box is oval, and testing it on a spare gearbox, it just spins. A clout with a hammer to...

    Speedo cable

An update. I ordered 2 cables, one from xmod, and one from craddocks. Xmod one arrived the next day, and was bearmach. As yet, the craddocks one hasn't even despatched. I ordered a couple of other things from them, one item has a 3 week wait (despite being shown as in stock). This has happened...

    Series 3 Towing Electrics

Just to throw a spanner in the works, my indicator relay is 3 pin....it works fine with the tow socket though.

    Series 2 Brake problem

We really should wear eye protection, but how many of us do? I can't wear goggles, because I wear glasses, so they just steam up. I bought a visor, which is better, but gets in the way.. Suffice to say I'm not allowed near mri machines. As Erubus says, LR tool #1 may come into play. Don't be...

    Series 2 Brake problem

Wheels and drums off time! Best to have a look inside before just adjusting them, especially if you haven't looked in there before. Look on the inside of the backplate, on the forward edge there is a hexagonal nut about 2/3rds up, this is the adjuster. It's a snail cam on the inside, turn it...

    Series seats

Only ever had a heated seat once. Metal frame and battery terminals not a good mix. Mind you, it was an old Davy Brown...sorted with a cut up old welly. :D

    Axle Numbers

The diff will have a number too, on the edge where it joins the axle, usually around the top. My front axle number was between the breather and the diff, on the top. Rear axle was in a similar place. But harder to see cos the back axle was rustier.

    Series seats

It makes pedestrians bounce and miss the windscreen....don't have to clean the glass then. Extra downside, at over 20mph the draught round the wheel makes the screenwash miss the screen entirely. Re the seats, the bases on deluxe models are loose in the frames, outer seat bases both slide. A...

What have you done to your Landie today.

That looks good. I should do mine! I need a handle like that. Never had one! Incidentally, where do you store the jack in the vehicle? In the underseat toolbox?

What have you done to your Landie today.

Fitted new screenwash switch onto the back of the wiper switch. Swore at it a bit...does that count? I think I need a new switch for the blower motor as well, can get full speed, or half speed, but only if connected to the same lead. Switch seems the best option...the wires work and the motor...

Thanks for that, that's the way I've done it in the past. I just fancied having the appropriate tool...you knows how it is. :D

    Series 3 springs

Another vote for GB springs. Their parabolics are good, service is spot on. Their standard springs are well thought of too. I had a pair of front springs by b.part. 3 years they lasted before they were spreading and rusting apart.
