The bin, or fitting to an Ejoke... ;) To be fair, the engine will eat itself before the brakes are any danger!

Is "face down, ass up, that's the way we like to *park*" too modern a reference for Landyzone? :D

    l322 td6 ,wacky glowplugs

Hello and welcome! Glow plugs aren't a bad starting place, but there's lots more could be causing a hard start when cold. If you can stick diagnostics on it, if it's a plug then it should tell you that, and which one. If it's not a glow plug: 1) how old is the fuel in it / is it used...

    Gearbox change box or oil

+1 Lynall's advice is exactly how I'd proceed, and that looks a normal amount of swarf on a drain plug to me too. Doesn't look chunky which is where I'd start to worry

    3.5 valve & compression issue?

This is a bloody brilliant reply. Having a proper "I love Landyzone" moment over here :D

How much rust in rear crossmember to fail MOT?

Welcome! Like others suggest, I'd clean it up, give it a little paint so it's not obviously corroding and hope for the best come MOT day. If you weld and can make access work, try filling in the holes. If it's not holed, an MOT tester shouldn't fail it. If you're seriously concerned, you...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Again, not mine (because I only seem to commute in Red Rover and look at Brown Rover wistfully) but I did fix the air suspension on a L322 today. New compressor and a few rounds of calibration, cleared the HDC Inactive fault that comes up when you clear the faults (smart system ), all...

    First post.

Lovely looking P38 David, and it sounds like you're well prepared for the joys of ownership with 13 years as a 'canic. Welcome to Landyzone!

    Hello everyone

Welcome Brendan, if you've had the welding done, at least you shouldn't need it doing again for a few years! They're very special vehicles, in both senses, but they're worth the extra cost or effort!

    Old Landy-New Owner

Lovely looking thing! Some of the leaks can probably be sorted, and the smoking shouldn't be impossible to sort. The steering either is what it is, or it's a bit of a bugger to sort out. Get a thread going in the Defender section for the first job and see where you end up. One job always leads...

Freelander 2 front left suspension arm replacement

Hello and welcome! You might find more specific advice in the Freelander section, but you should have enough flexibility with the drop link, track rod and drive shaft all disconnected. Have you disconnected the damper at the bottom to get the drive shaft out?

Dought a Disco 2 v8, not sure if I'm brave, stupid or both

Welcome, she's a lovely looking motor! Hope the LPG is working now, they can be a right faff if they go wrong
