Door quandary - what's your views?

Yes, also interested to know this please! I have managed to get the lock barrel out. As Capo suggested, I bent the tabs down on the nut, undid it and removed along with a sub-assy part and then pushed the barrel back through; it literally dropped out. So that was good. What isn't so good is how...

Door quandary - what's your views?

I think you might be right about the hex hd bolt as I've just had the new barrels delivered today and at the opposing end to the key slot is a female thread. So I will try and bend the tabs back and undo it and see what gives.

Door quandary - what's your views?

Right. I'm still mystified how I can release the lock barrel from the door latch! I need to get the door handle/lever out as well to make it look like new again. I've attached some photos of one of the latches. Does anyone have any idea how I disassemble the barrel & handle?

    Front Door rebuild

1985 90 Truck Cab, wind-up windows (5mm thk glass): I'm going to do a complete rebuild on the front doors but concerned about whose make of parts to use for the glass surround seal/channel etc. I'm wary of using Britpart but no doubt oem will be prohibitive once all the parts are costed up for...

Door quandary - what's your views?

They're pretty grim. I might bite the bullet and go for new (LuH) frame/skin assy from SP4x4 and build them back up, then at a later date, rebuild the exisitng ones and flog them on. Does anyone know how to remove the lock barrels from the LuH door latches?

Door quandary - what's your views?

1985 90 Truck Cab with single piece lift-up handle doors. I'm in a bit of a quandary over my doors. Just getting to the stage of requiring doors to go on after 3 years  I have a spare set of push-button ones as well. Both sets are similar condition (that means pretty @iss poor tbh). I've...

    Wiring part no.

Yes I do but it's clearly a sub-assembly part of the loom don't you think? So I would expect that sub-assy part to have a part no. and hopefully be obtainable?

    Wiring part no.

Just bumping this...has no one any clues?

    Wiring part no.

I seem to be missing part of the wiring that plugs into the multi-connector pictured. Is there a part no. anyone can offer please?

Defender truck cab rear sliding window

Give this a try, if the link doesn't work just google it manually: http://www.vehicleglazingspecialists.com/ They supplied me with a tinted one-piece replacement glass together with a fitting kit and seal. A much better solution than the leaky, rattly two-piece original.

    Dimension required please

Either that or it's just allowance for Land Rover build tolerances? :)

    Dimension required please

Lynall, mine is a '85 90 Truck cab so I think I'll probably go with Paul's dimensions but thanks all the same.

    Dimension required please

I'm about to install new seats onto a YRM repaired seatbox but have no reference for where to drill for the set frame fixings. Can someone be good enough to take a reference measurement from the outer edge of the seatbox to the bolt hole centres? That would be a great help. Many thanks in advance.

Seat frame locations on YRM seatbox

I'm probably being a numpty here but, having built a new YRM seatbox and installed it, I ordered some modular seats from Exmoor trim. The position of the seat frames on the seatbox isn't self-explanatory. Is it ok to just position the frames on centre as best I can by eye or am I missing a trick?
