I would just like to say

I've owned Land Rovers since 1994. Bought my first, a S3 Lightweight before I passed my test that same year at the age of 24 and had Land Rovers ever since. 9 Lightweights both S2A and S3. Hybrid coilsprung 88" 2x 109 S3 exMilitary 3x 110 2x 90 4x Discovery 4x Freelander. Currently own 2x...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Cleaned the maf sensor on my silver td4 and now it pulls again. Hopefully this improves the mpg as they have dropped off dramatically in the last few months.

    Freelander 1.8 Turbo

The latest issues dropped on my door mat yesterday so I decided to read it at work last night. Shame the article wasn't a little longer, considering they can stretch an article about a "series" or "defender" over six pages without actually telling you anything...................... My question...

    Freelander 1 Quicksilver edition

Makes a real difference to how it looks.

    Freelander 1 Quicksilver edition

Thanks for the replies but all of the above questions were asked of the vendor before asking on here .I bought one before and travelled half way round the country to find it was not a match, it was silver, but not Zambezi silver as the guy had claimed so I had to be cautious when buying this one...

    Freelander 1 Quicksilver edition

Anyone know of this ? Specifically what "silver" it was. Trawled the net and found nothing. Been offered a colour coded hard top - but the vendor does not know the paint code other than it came off a Quicksilver Special Edition. As there are 4 silvers in the Freelander 1 colour chart, I really...

    Fuel consumption Poll

Fuel consumption increasing. About 28mpg from last full tank, motorways and A roads. So far about 24mpg in current tank. Not happy with that at all.

    Whooops, I do it again...

This was my 2002 Freelander. The Allisport IC was an exact fit, using large screwdrivers to lever the bottom brackets into holes that had to be enlarged for the brackets to fit into.(Yes, I was facelifting the Freelander at the time, it is definitely a pre facelift despite the headlights) . The...

    Hard top bag

Did anyone here actually buy one? I remember seeing them years ago but didn't have a Freelander at the time. Thought they were a good solution as the bag would hang off any wall you wanted using a bracket of course meaning you didn't need a garage as long as there was somewhere to hang it off...

    Defender to a Freelander?

I'll tell you now, Freelanders are the best "all rounder". I've owner many series vehicles (still have a Lightweight) , a few Discos, 200 and 300 , a couple of 90's and 110's 2.5N/A and a 200 Defender 90. Series vehicles are ace. Love 'em,but not practical as an only vehicle and a thirst that...

    (yet another) side project: dualies

Steering would be a problem. You'd need to modify the arches to suit double wheels. I suspect they will foul the bulkhead too.

    Paraffin in the Tank ?

I once bought a Td4 that smoked badly . (turned out to be a split hose) . Anyway, this had a strange paraffin smell too. When I had a garage look at it the first thing they said was the diesel had been contaminated - with injector cleaner. I quizzed the previous owner who admitted that he used...

so she took it off road

Would have got stuck ? What, on that little embankment in the pics ? It's not even worth the effort of pressing the HDC and certainly not any sort of challenge for the Freelander. Tell you what, take the Freelander out yourself one day. You really will be surprised with it. You don't need to...

Big chunky tyres on my Freelander1

Big, chunky tyres.2" lift , Wheel spacers and modifications to the inner rear of the front arches to stop the tyres fowling. No IRD issues but has an insatiable thirst for osf driveshafts.

    Driveshaft boot

Cheers . However I've been trawling the net and can get GKN ones now for around £15 ! That's a huge saving on the prices from last year which seemed to all be round the £45 mark. Hence it was quicker and easier just to replace the whole unit at £52.

    Driveshaft boot

Yet another driveshaft boot has split . Always the same one - offside, inside boot. Now, I know I can buy just the boots, but I wondered if anyone knewspecifically of any decent more heavy duty ones. I could always just buy another drive shaft, they're cheap enough ,but it seems a shame when the...

    V6 Manual?

Rakeway motorsport If you really want a manual option for the V6, give them a call as they did the conversions on the M-Sport Freelanders. They're not cheap though. Infact, you'd probably need a few people interested before they would even consider it. I was informed by an M-Sport owner that...

    Freelander 1.8 Turbo

Great news !! Always good to see LZ Freelanders in print. LRO asked to feature my modded V6 they saw it at Billing 8 years ago but after 2 years of changing dates and new "features" editors, they eventually just asked me to send a few pics in and put it in the "Readers Rovers" section...

what mpg out of your td4?

Bloody hell ! I'm glad it's not my old V6. I could only manage half that mileage , 150 miles to the tank.
  20. RealBeale

what mpg out of your td4?

Regularly get 400 miles per tank. What's that equate to in mpg ? Once got around 600 miles to the tank going on holiday using both motorways, A roads and short journeys.
