Disco 2 Locking wheel nut identification

The only one I have a locking nut on is the spare as it's much easier to make off with than the road wheels.

So presumably you can disable the immobiliser with your hawkeye until such time as you have the appropriate diagnostic kit - at least that will get you mobile.

Disco 2 Slowly drowning in Discovery 2 woes (P1672)

Hi Fery. Does a Nanocom 1 need to be unlocked for V8? I'm not too far from the OP and have one but my car is a Td5.....

Disco 2 Slowly drowning in Discovery 2 woes (P1672)

I have the impression that Hawkeye can't resync the immobiliser to the key using the short code on the label inside the fob. Nanocom can do this. Whereabouts in Brum are you?

Disco 2 New key programmed to BCU, but no alarm

Or even if you lock it with the fob. It's called a mislock warning.

Disco 2 TD5 ECU relay chattering

Good riddance to rogerrug I say, and I look forward to hearing somewhere about how he's wasted hundreds on incompetent repair shops. Like others, Fery has been a huge help to me both here and on D2 Boys Club. And there was nothing wrong with what he said.

But wouldn't that stop the door from opening and the alarm being disabled?

Disco 2 Heater fault, or do I just need to learn how to use it?

Yes, I often find the air from the vents is too cold. It would be nice to be able to control that.

    Disco 2 Bio diesel

It has been said in many places that the Td5 engine is not suited to biodiesel but hopefully someone will come forward with facts rather than opinions.....

    Disco 2 Puzzled

Water ingress in the under-dash fusebox / IDM? It's easy enough to take it out (at the cost of a few skinned knuckles) and check. You need to pop its lid off to get a good look inside.

Fuel pressure regulator. These are known for leaking.

    Disco 2 Debating buying a 2?

Those mudflap brackets do rot away and galvanised replacements are available through ebay at a reasonable cost. Fitting can be a pain as the pop rivets holding them on are generally rusted in place but you can sot out replacements with nuts & bolts etc..... TBH if that's your main problem...

Disco 2 three amigos, where to start?

There's an even better fix described by Fery on the D2 boys' club. Look for non-invasive shuttle switch. I did mine about 3 years ago and absolutely no problems since. TC, ABS HDC and everything else all working perfectly.

Disco 2 Bonnet Up - Single Horn Toot

Mine always does that unless I either wait 30 seconds or so before locking or open & close one of the doors then lock which seems to reset it. As Fery says, mislock warning is the single pip from the horn.

Disco 2 Best road only tyres

I have Toyo Open Country W/Ts (winter tyres) on mine and find them excellent year round. I know I should be getting increased wear in the "summer" but the fronts have now done over 25,000 miles and still have loads left in them. I like the better grip in the wet from the heavily siped tread...

Disco 2 M & Lights flashing when engine is cold

Works perfectly well on both my Windows 10 machines. As I mentioned above, I've copied all files to a specific folder on the comuter and run it from there (well actually from the icon on the desktop that Brian mentions. I also have a copy of RAVE for my wife's Rover 200 coupé which also works fine.

Disco 2 M & Lights flashing when engine is cold

Try copying it all to your hard drive under a suitable folder but with the same structure as on the CD. You do need to start it up using RAVE.exe as it uses an old version of Adobe Acrobat. TBH RAVE is infinitely better than Haynes or anything else.

Disco 2 M & Lights flashing when engine is cold

I expect you've downloaded an ISO file which is a CD image. You can burn this to a blank CD or (if you have Windows 10) open it directly or (pre-Windows 10) you can get free software to do this. I've copied the whole thing to my hard drive so I don't have to faff around with CDs.

    Disco 2 Dead Disco!!

I would agree that water ingress in the under-dash fusebox / IDM would be my first port of call - especially as it's reasonably easy to get at. Once out you can open it up and you will see if water's been getting in to it. You can't really see without getting the covers off.

Disco 2 Electrical issue...looking for help please! :)

I once had a Mini whose engine earth strap failed so it earthed through the throttle cable (a fancy ptfe lined one). This made the lining melt & stick the throttle full open. Quite scary........
