Thanks James - I was talking about draining the system including the steering box so it's clear of any crap in there as well - hence asking about slacking off the outlet hose on the box itself

Anyone help please ? :) PAS pump all fitted, at the stage of attempting what Turboman suggests so just need to confirm what it is I'm undoing. Thanks

@Turboman I assume you mean the outlet hose on the power steering box, and also assume when I get to that the lower one will be the outlet fed by gravity ? Apologies for stupid questions but I'm going to give this a go today !

Well, it'll get a fluid change when I take the existing pump off won't it....and I've bot the proper Dextron stuff to go back in.

Mine is making an 'orrible sound when turning it by hand, very 'notchy' and you don't have to listen hard to hear it !

No I haven't looked at getting rebuilt working on the assumption a rebuild won't be far off the cost of a replacement ? May have a look at that :)

Need a new pump - 200TDi. No issue with using Paddocks or Craddocks, but they only really supply ****part which I want to avoid like the plague. Equally, LR money will be silly....anywhere else to look for an OEM spec one at sensible money ? Cheers !

And most of the owners in the Northern hemisphere would FAR rather be in the Southern one !
