Other what have u done on ur disco today

I just noticed this again. It wasn't am M6x20 flange headed bolt, it was an M6x25 flange headed bolt  Blasted 20s are too short. Anyhow, problem was solved by Amazon of all places. Under a fiver for ten of 'em, overnight. That's a LOT cheaper than other (specialist L/R) places, and for more...

Disco 2 Second time's the charm (MoT!)

Over the last year, we've (a mate of mine and I, he knows a LOT more than I ever will!) been over the wagon fairly extensively. However, I was the one doing the final checks in daylight before the MoT. One learns lessons, trust me ;)

Disco 2 Car cap (Frost Cover) recommendations?

Anyone got a good suggestion/recommendation as to which make of car cap to lay my mitts on for my Disco 2? Ta in advance :)

Disco 2 Second time's the charm (MoT!)

OK, so it's through the MoT for another year of motoring mayhem, but a couple of cautionary notes for you all - pay attention to detail! I failed to check for blown bulbs, and had to replace a pair of blown bulbs: a number plate bulb, and the rear offside position bulb as well; in addition, I...

Disco 2 Td5 - oil return pipe rerouting?

BTW, the locking piers I used is this one, from Draper: It's their "53-118mm Self Grip Multi Purpose Oil Filter Wrench". Got mine from Amazon. Works just like a set of mole grips, but with a massively big set of jaws. Excellent bit of kit.

Disco 2 Td5 - oil return pipe rerouting?

Hmm. There's a thought. I may well look into that, thanks :)

Disco 2 Td5 - oil return pipe rerouting?

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind :) I've used an OEM LR filter this time, and got the dedicated filter spanner for it, which'll make it easier to undo, if not easier to get out of there, next time. But I still want to reroute that damned silly pipe. Whoever designed that thing needs a 30mm spanner...

Disco 2 Td5 - oil return pipe rerouting?

You guys appear to be making the assumption that it was done up super tight last time. It wasn't. The can was an aftermarket one bought from Craddocks (part of their Td5 service kit), and somehow, despite being put on properly, seized in place over the last year; the rubber gasket WAS lubed with...

Disco 2 Td5 - oil return pipe rerouting?

OK, just had a female hound of a time replacing the oil filter on my Disco (2000 D2Td5). To make things easier next time, I'm wondering if it's possible to reroute the oil return pipe that currently runs directly under the oil filter can, so somewhere less in the $%^&* way. So, first question...

    Td5 oil

As Brian said, and there's the chart he supplied (right out of the user handbook, no less ;) ). I use 5W30 Castrol stop/start Magnatec, as at the last change, about a month or so ago. So far, The Maroon Monster (My D2td5) is looking and sounding fine with it :D

TD5 starting diificult but runs very well

Just thinking basics, not the battery and/or alternator, is it?

    Disco 2 Dashboard bulb replacement

Thanks for that :) I'll get a chance to do that later this week (hopefully the weather will have cleared up a bit by then!)

    D2 Priorities.

The P.O. of mine stuck on replacement springs, shocks, and tyres; effectively raising the wagon a good four inches; the tyres are Insa Turbo Ranger 265/70 R16, which are MUCH larger than the L/R supplied 255s; as a result, I had to turn out the lock stops, in order to prevent the inside of the...

    Disco 2 Dashboard bulb replacement

I have a blown dash light (speedo et al) as well. Interested in knowing the answer to this, and if anyone also knows, just how much of a cast-iron sod is it to get in there and do the job?

PMSL :D The Smith Chart of that would be something to behold

Disco 2 Rear storage box fixings question...

Yeah, there are a few places you can stick a radio in a disco, no matter what model you have. If you do go for that gps hole, make sure you seal it effectively, discos really don't like leaks!

Disco 2 Rear storage box fixings question...

There isn't much slack cable to play with, but it's certainly worth a shot, thanks :D
