    What's this for?

Side repeater works so don't think it's for that. I thought fog light on the front but seems a bit short.

    Empty bolt hole!!

Usually the cap of the vacuum pump. Mine leaked a bit when I got it , I ignored it and it got a lot worse after a year. Simple fix was drill the rivets out and replace them with little bolts. Saves you buying a new pump and if you've got a small hand drill you can leave it in situ :)

Personally no it doesn't matter to me, I enjoy driving it and that's the end of it. Just find it interesting how much some things affect it.

    300tdi MPG final verdict

Mines been getting from 19-27 recently, 27. Running on bio so can't complain! Pump tweaked, snorkel and 265/75 mud terrains. Due a service so hoping to see steady 27 again. Shows how much difference the tyres make when I managed 36 on standard road tyres on a motorway!

300tdi transfer box rear output bearing

Hi, just a quick question. ive had play in the rear output bearing for a while and its recent taken a big turn for the worse. meaning im getting a ticking noise when slowing down (in or out of gear) and vibrations (prop UJ's fine) Is there a way to adjust the rear output bearing to get rid of...

300tdi "dinking" sound when warm plus vibration at idle

we checked them roughly (it started tipping it down with rain) and they were all alright. its a bit more of a dink rather than a tick. gonna check the injectors at lunch and then go from there.. and do the valve clearences properly

    Thin wheels

i had 7.50 r16's defender steels fitted to my disco at standard height with no modifications (ie. no camel cut) i cant comment on no.1 but i assume 7.50 size would be easier to find as a lot of people still have them on defenders etc. no2. obviously if the muds really deep and it slices...

300tdi "dinking" sound when warm plus vibration at idle

well basically my 300TDI has developed a problem when its up to temperature. When its at temp its tick-over vibrates more and there's a metallic sort of "bink" noise in time with the engine. A friend of mine suggested an injector not working properly as we traced it to somewhere around piston...

    Snorkel Air Filter

with regards to the ram effect forcing rain in, ive had this exact problem as the snorkel i got (fair bit cheaper) cant be turned around (hacksaw and drainpipe will fix this shortly) as i was going down the motorway with snow and rain i decided to check it and the airbox was full of...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Ran a new wire to the fuel stop solenoid to stop it cutting out while driving. And gave up trying to get one to the starter relay as I couldn't find a neat place to hide the wire. And it was raining on me..
