Makes having a tracker kinda pointless really doens't it :/ and a disklok... Think i might show the missus this thread, she was moaning the other day that her car has been evicted off the drive so both my landies can sit on it under the CCTV cameras.

    Substandard crankshaft on disco 4

you're right, it is sadly becoming a well documented problem, although I thought it was a D3 - TDV6 issue rather than a D4 issue... :scratching_chin: how about this for an approach - tell LR you want an independant Engine expert to investigate for you and that if he finds that it is due to a...

Urgent: Badly overheated. I don't dare turn off.

Glad you got away with it, but, you really have some strange understandings on cooling :p If EVER an engine gets hot, turn it off ASAP, there is never going to be a situation that leaving an engine on tick over will cool it more than just turning it off straight away. (Unless you have a...

Disco 3 / 4 Exmoor Trim Front Canvas Seat Covers

As i have sadly sold my D3 commercial (and replaced it with a new 110 utility) I have lots of bits to sell off, so, to start: 1 set of Exmoor trim Canvas front seat covers. These are 1 year old and are in excellent condition, there are no marks are "soilings" as it were, complete with head rest...

    Newbie buying advice

Old disco = lots of rust. If you are looking at them take a tool kit and check the following: Boot floor - rock the back seats forward and get the carpet up, you'll probably have to remove the plastic strip along the back door, but, get it up, look at the rear wheel arches too Sils -...

Waffle board roof rack grid thingy...

Yeah i was thinking of waffle board type material but a 1/4 of the thickness... Safety Devices do offer a marine ply solution... would rather not use weld mesh if possible, i'm familiar with the stuff and have used it in various applications, but, i just don't think it would be right for this...

Waffle board roof rack grid thingy...

Thanks, yes if you've got a link that'd be great I'd need a lot of waffle boards to cover the whole rack, they're not exactly cheap, and are a bit thick for the purpose. Also, in the 6 years of laning to date, I have never, ever required waffle boards, I really don't think i'm going to need...

Waffle board roof rack grid thingy...

When loading the roofrack and walking around on it i have to be careful to balance along the bars all the time which is a pain, I was thinking a large lattice grid across the rack would give a solid area to walk over... and was thinking the kind of stuff waffle boards are made from would be good...

Is it time we just gave up on the lanes?

I've screen shot the post so may upload it later... I suppose it's one of those pics that a few years I'd (and i guess most) would have thought "ouu that looks fun" but due to the more rescent problems with lanes being shut, etc. now go "ouu that's bad for the laning community"

    Expensive tool

I'd rather stick with a mechanical one, than digitial, as above, the sensor will wear overtime.. but... £500 for a specialist tool seems a fair price to me, if i had a need for one i wouldn't think twice about buying one...
