If it blows the fuse when disconnected then you have a short. Could be wiring has rubbed through somewhere. Good place to start is the grommet where the wires exit the body and enter the door. I would suggest searching for a copy of RAVE on here for your vehicle. Will help with wiring diagrams...

Should be 30A fuse in f8. Do you have a 30amp fuse fitted?
