Having just sold my 110 CSW, it made me wonder how my old Series 2 SWB truck cab is doing.. checking with DVLA I see it is still taxed until April 2016.. I had it for 13yrs, selling it some 21yrs ago.. Nice to see it's still going?

HI I own vsk923 its still a green SWB just happened to pop my number plate in goggle and found your post 3rd down...

I'm sure your dying to know a little bit about it as am I,

I bought her in 2013 from a salvage yard in Sudbury, it had hit a tree sorry state she was too, tree hit centre front pushed bumper into rad into engine, knocking the bonnet bending the bulk head dropping the doors, bending one front chassis outriggers pushing front axel back bending steering bars terrible state. After lots of knuckle bashing by me, shes now back to former glory, panels beaten flat, pretty good job too, fresh coat of green, bulk head repairs, outrigers, etctctctc. wiring loom engine rebuild, gearbox rebuild.. still on original chassis and all body panels except door tops. she sill has both the glass front side lights I presume original.

original engine was gone when I bought her, she was sporting a series 3 light green petrol presume ex army lump, which was had it. she now has a 2.5 but with all the old bits from the series 3 engine. timing case for series 2 water pump etc..

I use her regularly just been doing up a house using her to collect sand town trailers etc... best rover i've ever owned. ive had 3 rovers .A 90, a series 3 and my favourite series 2.

she had about 92,000 on the clock when I got her in 2014, she has just turned back to zero I'm assuming again.

so it was 34 years ago you bought her that's around 1983s (I was 2)

your turn... :)

Something you might remember on here....

I used to own PWP 118 E series 2a truck cab over 25 years ago. Many a fond memory of driving to the pub on a summers evening with no roof or door tops and the screen folded down.
I blame this car for giving me the Land Rover bug.
Often wonder if it is still around.

Does not look that promising :(

Would it have been tax/ mot exempt that year?
Even if tax exempt you still need to tax it, you just tax it as historic and it does not cost you anything. If it is off the road it should be sorned and would show a sorn status. See my tractor (exempt) and series (sorn) below

Just as an nostalgic up date, I met up with dinger207, Bob, and he has came around to see the old girl. i learnt allot about its history, why the pedals had been made shorter, very tall chap owner her from new, original registration, 379EV and details of ownership from new. Used to transport peaches to market from a peach farm in Bocking, only 5 miles away from me now. Now the proud owner of an old photo and bill of sale to Bob.
so fabulous that the power of the internet can reunite two owners with a personal account and long ownership of the same vehicle 19 years apart. maybe I can fill in the 19 year blank in its history some day....
hope all your searches are successful.
